- OVERVIEW:
-
- XW-PLT is a utility designed to be used in conjunction with
- LucasArts' superb space combat simulator X-wing. It is a pilot
- (.PLT) file editor capable of manipulating all currently known
- aspects of X-wing pilot files. Also provided is a summary feature
- which allows you to generate, print, and save summaries of any
- pilot file in text format. The program has a very simple, easy to
- use Turbo Vision interface in the interest of user friendliness,
- which makes editing pilot files painless.
-
- REVISION HISTORY:
-
- Version 3.0 - Full support of B-wing added, uses proper
- fields for B-wing training scores. Mission
- Titles for B-wing missions added.
-
- Version 2.2 - Added support for upcoming mission disks,
- specifically for the anticipated B-wing.
- Up to eight tours is now supported.
-
- Version 2.1 - Fixed some fields which were too short and
- caused scores to be cut off, specifically
- TOD Score, which wouldn't allow a score
- above 999,999. Adjusted range checking to
- allow higher scores in missions. Version 2.1
- will no longer allow editing of non-pilot
- files.
-
- Version 2.0 - Fixed bugs caused by a misinterpretation of
- how TOD4 Imperial Pursuit scores were stored
- in the pilot files. Also thought a version
- number of 2.0 would be more appropriate with
- the addition of the Imperial Pursuit mission
- disk.
-
- Version 1.1 - Modified to work with pilot files generated
- by Version 1.1 of X-wing (Imperial Pursuit).
- Specifically, adds ability to edit TOD 4
- stats and new medals Shield of Yavin and
- Talons of Hoth. Better range checking for
- some pilot file stats. Corrects bugs in
- pilot summary reports.
-
- Version 1.01 - Adds Quick Revive feature which resets duty
- status to ACTIVE and properly restores the
- Tour of Duty Status. Quick Revive also will
- automatically save the pilot file. This new
- command will allow you to quickly revive your
- pilot without too much hassle.
-
- Adds command line support. If a pilot file
- name is provided, the pilot file will be
- automatically loaded.
-
- Version 1.0 - Initial release.
-
- INSTALLATION:

- NOTES ON TOD IV: IMPERIAL PURSUIT, and TOD V: B-WING
-
- Tour of Duty IV and V contain four dual missions. Each of these
- consists of two separate missions designated (a) and (b). On a tour of duty,
- the game only allows you to play one of these, although space is reserved in
- the pilot file for scores for both. You can go back to fly the unplayed
- mission by resetting the last played mission. However, remember that you can
- always play the unplayed mission in Historic Combat as well. Also, when
- generating a summary, the missions which are shown twice are the dual
- missions.
-
- Two new medals are supported in version 2.0+ of XW-PLT. These are the
- Shield of Yavin and the Talons of Hoth. As far as I can tell at this time,
- these are the only new medals in Imperial Pursuit. (except for the 12
- TOD4 ribbons)
-
- You can get the B-wing flight badge by setting the training level to 8+
- for the B-wing. This works the same as the others.
-
- NOTES ON LATER TOURS
-
- There are 25 editable fields for tours 6 and up. The mission numbers
- probably won't match the game if and when later tour disks come out, due to
- the "dual missions" like in Imperial Pursuit and B-wing. Another update of
- XPLT will be made if these actually do come out.
